Day 1: We will meet your flight at London Heathrow or Gatwick in the
arrivals hall and take passengers to our awaiting coach. We drive to Stratford upon Avon,
Birthplace of William Shakespeare the greatest writer in the English Language. We have a
city orientation and lunch in Stratford.
Travel onto York. Check into your well-appointed hotel. Dinner arranged.
Day 2: After breakfast we have a city orientation of York including
of course York Minster, one of Europe’s finest Cathedrals. We visit the sights and smells
of the Viking Ages at the JORVIK Viking centre. Archaeologists unearthed remains of 10th
Century Viking Age Buildings on a site of an old sweet factory, in Coppergate. An amazing
40,000 objects were uncovered. Lunch in York before we depart for Edinburgh. Check into
our central hotel in Edinburgh.
Day 3: Breakfast before our city orientation of Edinburgh. We visit
Edinburgh Castle, Scotland’s most famous castle. The castle offers stunning views of the
surrounding areas. James VI erected the Great Hall in 1510. Depart Edinburgh. Stop at
the Gretna Green Blacksmiths Shop where runaway couples would flock to be married. Gretna
Green being one of the world’s most famous wedding venues, long before Las Vegas. One wedding
certificate dates back to 11th June 1772. Travel onto the Lake District – famed for their
natural beauty. Free time here to wander and enjoy the views. We have arranged a traditional
afternoon tea here.
Arrive at Manchester a city of old and new. Famed for its musical talents and of course
Manchester United Football Club – a football team recognised across the world. We check into
the centrally located hotel in Manchester before our evening meal.
Day 4: Breakfast and check out of the hotel before a city orientation
of Manchester. We travel onto Cheltenham for Lunch. Most of Cheltenham Town Centre lies
in a conservation area, admire the Regency Houses here. After lunch we travel to Cardiff.
On arrival we check into our hotel. Evening meal arranged.
Day 5: Depart Cardiff after breakfast for our journey to the City of
Bath, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we travel to the World Heritage site of
Stonehenge Stone Circle. This stunning stone circle was erected between c3000bc and 1600bc.
Depart for Central London. On arrival we check into the centrally located Royal Lancaster
Hotel. This afternoon we have arranged fast track tickets to avoid the lengthy queues for
the London Eye Flight. Your group will have unmissable views of London including Buckingham
Palace and the Houses of Parliament. Dinner arranged.
Day 6: After breakfast we visit the Tower of London. Time here to explore
the Towers, Palaces and of course the Crown Jewels dating back to 1661. Lunch included. Time
for shopping in Oxford Street and Regent Street before our evening meal.
Day 7: Breakfast and then check out of our hotel. We have arranged a
morning of sightseeing in London and all of the main attractions. Including Buckingham Palace,
Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Westminster Abbey and St Pauls Cathedral. Lunch
Included. This afternoon we visit Madame Tussauds. A chance to see the famous wax models from
celebrities to world leaders.
