Canterbury and Leeds Castle
We believe to fully appreciate Leeds Castle and all that the
Canterbury has to offer the visitor, you need a full day tour.
We realise that there are many other tours on offer, which squeeze
in other places along the way. We, however, think that to fully
appreciate the day you need more than just a whistle stop tour.
Collection from your hotel and start our journey to Canterbury.
On arrival at the ancient walled city we visit the Cathedral where
Thomas Beckett was murdered in 1170. Free time to visit the City
Centre, which by day is closed to traffic.
We highly recommend the Canterbury Tales. Step back in time, over
500 years. Join Geoffrey Chaucer and his pilgrims on their journey
from Tabard Inn, London to the Shrine of Thomas Beckett in Canterbury
Cathedral. Free time for lunch. Canterbury has many
traditional or if you prefer cosmopolitan, lunch options. After lunch depart for
Leeds Castle.
We have an afternoon at Leeds Castle - Described by Lord Conway
as “The Loveliest Castle in the World”. The moated castle, which is
over 1000 years old, is set in 500 acres of glorious grounds and parklands.
Be sure to visit the formal gardens and the maze and secret underground
grotto. The castle is also home to an Aviary with over 100 species of
endangered birds. You may like to see the museum housing dog collars
dating back to the sixteenth century!
Late afternoon we leave the castle to return to your hotel.
